讲座主题3D Printing of High Performance Alloys Mechanical Properties and Residual

讲座内容:

3D printing builds parts through a layer-wise fashion of raw material deposition and sintering. This technology offers a number of advantages over the conventional part manufacturing methods, including the capability of handling complex part geometry, reduced material waste, and shortened production lead times. For a wider industrial adaptation of 3D printing, better knowledge of the printed partsproperties is needed and challenges like building defects and residual stresses have to be addressed, which has been the driving force for extensive research activities. This presentation will focus on laserpowder bed fusion (L-PBF), one of the most common methods for printing metal parts. The mechanical properties such as strength, creep behavior, and fatigue performance of several high-performance metallic alloys will be presented with respect to the influence of typical L-PBF microstructure. Examples of residual stress characterization and control will also be discussed.

主讲人简介

Ru Lin received her B. Sc. in Metallic Materials and Heat Treatment from South China Institute of Technology, China in 1982, and her PhD degree in Engineering Materials from Linköping University, Sweden in 1992. She worked for the Studsvik Neutron Research Laboratory before taking up an associate professor position at Linköping University in 2003. She is currently Professor in Engineering Materials at Linköping University. Her current research focuses on residual stresses and their influence on metallic materials, high temperature coatings, and additive manufacturing. She is member of the scientific board for the International Conference on Residual Stresses (from 2008) and European Conference on Residual Stresses (from 2006), and Meca-Sens (I-IV). She has also served as board member of the Swedish Neutron Scattering Society (2017-2023).
